Unfortunately, convertible arbitrage is poorly named given little bona fide “arbitrage” nowadays.  It is very difficult to buy a dollar bill for $0.90 and create a riskless “arbitrage”.  It can happen, but genuine “arbitrage” gets “arbed out” quickly, as many investors bid up the $0.90 investment until it rises to a dollar.
